MMV Designs was asked to design and produce a tour fit for a queen for the King Princess ‘Cheap Queen’ Tour in 2019. Working with creative director SSessions from New York, we managed and designed a 3 piece set with custom fabricated scenic pieces and a full stage backdrop. Lighting design and programming were done in house and deployed with a fully timecoded show using Ableton Live as the playback device.
Working with a design from Visual Endeavors, MMV Designs provided timecode programming, on the road operations and city to city redesigns and CAD alterations for Kayzo’s ‘Dog House’ Tour. We worked closely with each vendor to come up with appropriate designs that would work in each city and each room that the show played in. We also provided timecoded programming for specific moments in the show as well as a full busking showfile that we used to operate the show each night.
MMV Designs was called upon once again by Production Designer So Midwest Inc. to program lighting for Chevelle’s 2019 Summer Tour. We provided a custom previz file that included the aerial rig designed for the tour and a fresh showfile built for expandability. With a tentative design that was put on hold until a later tour, it was important to us that the show be flexible and expandable.
MMV Designs provided Lighting Programming for the Deadmau5 ‘Cube V3’ Tour in 2019 and 2020. Working closely with designer and technical director Collyns Stenzel, we built and programmed a versatile timecoded show with a custom lua based system that networked in with the Ableton Live playback computer and adapted and changed itself based on the duration and moments of the show. MMV also provided operation of the custom automation system built by Stenzel and f5D out of illinois.
MMV Designs provided timecode lighting programming and creative lighting direction for the Train ‘Save Me San Francisco’ Tour. Utilizing Capture, we built a full pre-visualization system and pre programmed the entire show to timecode. With So Midwest Inc.’s concerns of not wanting to use follow spots on the tour, we turned to follow-me and programmed a 3 person spot into the show that utilized psn from follow me controls and were able to create an elegant solution to light the artists.
MMV Designs programmed a fully timecoded show for the MAX ‘House of Divine’ tour in 2018. Designed by So Midwest Inc, this tour presented a unique challenge of trying to get ideas and moments across while working with very few lights.
For the N.E.R.D ‘LEMON’ Tour in 2018, MMV Designs provided programing and show operation for the timecoded performance. We pre-visualized and cloned a timecode show into various festival shows as well as managing the ground package consisting of 96 strobes that changed vendors between shows.
MMV Designs assisted with the Tiesto ‘World Tour’ in 2018 taking care of the performances in North America. With a showfile and timecode provided by Designer Visual Endeavors we cloned in festival showfiles, managed the showfile and updated the show with our own twist on the performance.
MMV Designs worked with So Midwest Inc. to provide lighting design, programming and operation for the ‘VEX Worlds 2019’ World Championships.
